About Marcie
Marcie Evans, Owner, Serenity Wellness Therapy, has traveled across the United States to learn mind and body healing and movement therapy methods. She has used her special and unique combinations and techniques for her own healing process and continues to share these methods with others, both online and in her in-person studio in Iowa City, Iowa.
Marcie has 25 years of hands-on experience and intensive training programs, and worked with thousands of clients and teachers-in-training internationally. This experience and training background has lead to an interesting and unique combination of techniques custom-fitted to each individual, or to small groups with similar issues. Marcie has a Master’s degree from the University of Iowa in Integrated Physiology, and she is a Certified Exercise Physiologist with the American College of Sports Medicine. Marcie also has very specific training and experience in mind and body modalities. She is certified as a Yoga Therapist with IAYT, she is a Level 2 Neuro Studio Pilates Practitioner, a Level 1 Sundara Yoga Therapy Trauma Informed Yoga Therapist, an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance, a Certified a Breast Cancer Exercise Specialist with The Pink Ribbon Program, and a Level 2 Antigravity Yoga Instructor. Marcie has also been teaching contemporary Pilates (Stott Pilates) for over 25 years. Contemporary Pilates is uniquely adaptable to any student’s needs, and heavily influenced by physical therapy.
Marcie would love for you to join her on a journey of self-exploration to identify which therapies and movements can help you through challenges to your own personal health. Marcie sees every individual as being their own holistic healer, teaches autonomy and facilitates sustainable healing from the inside out. She uses a combination of training methods unique to each client’s learning style and health needs.
